Surface Superintendent  |  Wollongong Region The opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Surface Superintendent to head a dynamic and skilled team. You will be responsible for overseeing all Electrical & Mechanical activities to the Surface operation. Responsibilities Using your previous supervisory & planning experience, you will be a proven leader with a safety conscious work ethic & possess the ability to work in a high-pressured environment.
  • Ensuring all tasks are being undertaken in a safe manner and are meeting with statutory obligations
  • Management of budgets in accordance with the mine plan, reporting to the senior management team
  • Implement improvement initiatives & early identification strategies improving process management.
  • Work alongside process superintendents & engineering teams identifying risks
  • Oversee contractor engagement processes ensuring work is provided as per scope of engagement
  • Promote statutory and corporate compliance with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental requirements and seek continuous improvement initiatives and develop early identification strategies to improve process management
To be successful you will need:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • You will ideally have 7+ years relevant underground mining experience in supervisory and planning capacity.
  • You will be a proven leader with a safety conscious work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships and manage your own team
  • The ability to manage your own budget and be cost-focused
  • Strong communication and written skills’
